A South Sudanese journalist has passed away in Juba on Monday, July 13 at the age of 34.

Richard Janda, who was working for the Equator Broadcasting Cooperation (EBC), died on Monday afternoon after a short illness at Juba Medical Complex.

Richard’s brother, Isaac Janda has confirmed the death and said that the cause of Richards’s death remains unclear.

An autopsy would be carried out to determine how the 34-year-old journalist died, Isaac said.

“In March, Richard was diagnosed with tuberculosis and received treatment. But he fell sick on Monday and was taken to Juba Medical Complex where he passed away,” he explained.

Richard worked as a journalist for numerous media houses in the South Sudanese capital, Juba.

Friends and colleagues eulogized the late as a talented journalist.
