The governor of South Sudan’s Jonglei Philip Aguer has issued an order creating three new counties in greater Twic and Duk areas.

Governor Aguer, in the order dated November 26, named Palieu and Kongor payams of Twic Centre as new counties. The same order also named Pangak payam of Duk Padiet County as a new county.

In a separate gubernatorial decree, Governor Aguer appointed Garang Bul Pageer and Machar Akech Machar as the county commissioners for the newly created Kongor and Palieu counties respectively.
