Jonglei governor appoints 3 SPLM-IO officials as part of peace implementation

The governor of South Sudan’s Jonglei State has appointed three officials from the faction of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-In-Opposition (SPLM-IO) led by the First Vice-President Taban Deng Gai.

The governor of South Sudan’s Jonglei State has appointed three officials from the faction of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-In-Opposition (SPLM-IO) led by the First Vice-President Taban Deng Gai.

 Governor Philip Aguer Panyang, according to the order dated 23 September, named Thon Simon Thok as minister of labour and public service, Dut Abraham Bol, minister of youth and sports and Kuol Garang, chairperson of investment commission.

 Aguer said the appointment was part of the implementation of the 2015 peace agreement which permits the SPLM-IO to share power in all the states in the unity government.
