The Angakuei community in SoutH Sudan’s Jonglei State on Saturday held a fundraising event to rehabilitate a health center in Baidit area of Bor West County.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Sunday, David Panchol, the chairman of Angakuei community said they were able to raise 661, 771 SSPs and 500 USD for the renovation of the only primary health center.
“There are three centers for harambee. One is River Nile Hotel, there we raised 560,165 SSP, 500 USD, 2 goats and 2 ducks. Another centre is in Mayen and we collected 43,706 SSP and 1 cock. In Baidit, we got 7,900,” he said.
Panchol added that some of the funds will be used to rehabilitate roads and open water channels in the flood-prone area.
