Jonglei State Minister of Health Dr. Angok Gordon Kuol says at least 100 people have suffered from cholera since the disease broke out in the state capital Bor.
In an interview with Radio Tamazuj, the minister said most of the cases admitted to Bor Teaching Hospital were children as the outbreak continues to spread in the town.
The state official said they receive about four to six cases every week. He said his ministry and health organizations operating in the area have recently sent a medical team to counties in order to educate citizens on the risk of the outbreak.
Dr. Gordon added that they started to send a shipment of medicines to hospitals and other related health facilities in the state.
In early July, the Jonglei official told Radio Tamazuj that Bor Hospital received 19 cholera cases only, adding that one person died before reaching the facility.
