Authorities in Jonglei State are planning a visit to the Greater Pibor Administrative Area to discuss neighborly relations following the recent visit of Pibor Chief Administrator David Yau Yau.

The new Pibor Administrative Area was carved out of Jonglei State following a peace deal in early 2014 and now is considered a territory under an autonomous administration “annexed under the presidency.”

Radio Miraya reported yesterday that Jonglei state ministers are planning to meet with David Yau Yau to talk about several cross-border issues.

“The visit of Yau Yau last time will open the way for all of us to create good relations,” said state spokesman Jody Jonglei Boyoris. “We didn’t put timetable for this but we are actually waiting for UNMISS to provide the flight,” he said speaking on Radio Miraya.

The agenda includes security, economic relations and transport, he said.

Daid Yau Yau was in Bor several weeks ago to hand over four children who earlier were abducted from Bor County and taken to Pibor County.
