The government of Jonglei State and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) are organizing a job fair on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Dr. John Garang University of Science and Technology, in Bor.
In a statement extended to Radio Tamazuj on Monday, UNDP said the two-day job fair will be filled with activities for young people to learn about local employment opportunities and livelihood development.
It further said attendees will be able to access job coaching and advice on drafting a CV, pointing out that there will be networking opportunities with other entrepreneurs and instructions on how to develop business ideas.
“The Bor Jonglei State Government, private sector, UN agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders will share information on local employment opportunities, in areas such as Education, Health, Natural Resources Management, Innovations and Agribusiness,” the statement reads in part.
The job fair is supported by UNDP’s Youth Employment and Empowerment Project, supported by the Kingdom of Netherlands.
It follows a job fair held in Yambio, Gbudue State, earlier this year.
A delegation headed by the Governor of Jonglei State and the National Minister of Labour, and joined by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and UNDP’s Resident Representative will launch the job fair on Tuesday around 10 am.
