South Sudan’s transitional cabinet last Friday was delayed because President Salva Kiir was out of the country, according to an official from the SPLM-IO.
Tingo Peter, a member of the SPLM-IO faction, told Radio Tamazuj that discussion on 28 states, transitional parliament and cantonment sites for opposition forces were delayed due to the absence of President Kiir, who travelled to attended the inaguration of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.
Separately, Tingo criticized a statement made by SPLA spokesperson Lul Ruai that the government doesn’t recognize the presence of SPLA-IO forces in Equatoria and Western Bahr el Ghazal.
Tingo, who hails from Western Bahr al Ghazal, said Ruai was the SPLA-IO spokesperson before joining the government, and had been reporting on movements of opposition forces in Wau County.
