Investigation into death of S Sudanese student in Kenya

The charge d’affaires of South Sudan’s embassy in Kenya Jimmy Deng said a South Sudanese piloting student has died during a training trip in Kenya last week.

Deng told Radio Tamazuj Nyiwalla Peter was in training and when her plane landed in Malindi airstrip she was hit by an aircraft’s propeller. She was taken to the hospital but later died of her injuries.

The Kenyan Civil aviation authorities said an investigation was being carried out to ascertain the death of the student.

Family members told Radio Tamazuj a memorial service was held at the Catholic Church in the Kenyan capital Nairobi for the late student attended by the Minister of Telecommunication and Postal Services Rebeca Joshua and the body was taken to South Sudan Thursday.
