Local authorities have confirmed inter-clan fighting between Kuei and Ruop clans after a dispute over a land in the area between Rumbek East and Rumbek Center counties last Friday and continued until Saturday.

Information minister Dut Makuet of the proposed Western Lakes state told Radio Tamazuj the fighting was between the two clans but Pakam clan intervened and took side with Kuei against Ruop clan.

“The fighting broke out in a cattle camp on Friday. This fighting goes back for long time it is not something that broke out just today," he said.

However, the local official did not mention any causalties from both sides but expects death cases may occurs.
