Local authorities in Abiemnhom West County of Ruweng State said poor condition of roads is to blame for lack of better service delivery.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday, the county commissioner, Michael Malek Yak said heavy rains have cut off the main road linking the county to the state capital, Pariang.
He added that the heavy rains have hindered the provision of medicines and food supplies in the area. “The roads are very bad due to the rains that hit the area, so the humanitarian situation is deteriorating in the county,” Yak said.
The local official urged the national government to intervene before their situation deteriorates further.
