Immigration official in Aweil warns undocumented foreigners

The Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Immigration in South Sudan's Aweil State has announced to undocumented foreigners who are living in the state to process the right documents.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Thursday, Aweil's  Director of Immigration Col. Arkangelo said they will verify all foreigners who are living in Aweil state without documents such as a passport.

Deng pointed out that any foreigner who will be caught without proper papers will face  legal procedures without compromise. He noted that smuggling is prohibited in South Sudan's constitution and state laws.

Deng called upon citizens to collaborate with the police if there are foreign nationals who are residing in the state without legal documents.

The senior immigration officer was reacting to complains raised by local residents about increasing number of foreigners in  Aweil State without any legal status.
