Ikotos authority complains over lack of MTN network

The local government in Ikotos County in Eastern Equatoria has raised a complaint over lack of MTN mobile network services for some months.

Ikotos Commissioner Salvatore Abdalla confirmed to Radio Tamazuj that the MTN network has been cut off for almost three months due to lack of fuel which interfered with the generator.

The commissioner repeatedly said the network in his county went off due to lack of fuel for the generator.

“The network was not working and right now am here in Torit capital of Imatong to look for the fuel and now I got it but am still looking for the mechanic to repair the generator,” he said.

In a separate development, Abdalla stated that a vehicle which was coming from Kedipo Valley to Chetenya near the border with South Sudan and Uganda was ambushed last month.

The commissioner confirmed the shooting happened on 19 September and he said the armed groups that carried out the attack moved toward Kedipo Valley County, according to his security sources.

He also mentioned that the county of Ikotos has been divided into three counties and he will work hard with the new Commissioner of Kedipo Valley to improve security along the border between the two counties.
