Igga to brief parliament on joining of East African Community

South Sudan's Vice President James Wani Igga is expected to brief the country’s parliament on the decision to join the East African Community.

Igga represented South Sudan at the EAC meeting in Tanzania last week where it was decided to admit South Sudan into the East African trade bloc.

Oliver Mori Benjamin, the chairperson of the committee of information, telecommunications and culture told journalists at his office in the parliament that Wani Igga is expected to brief the house on the importance of South Sudan joining the community.

Mori said the vice president will speak at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday to all the members of the National Legislative Assembly, members of the Council of States, and members of the SPLM secretariat.

The chairperson said the vice president will clarify to the members of the houses and media how South Sudan is going to benefit from joining the economic community.
