The head of IGAD mediation, Ambassador Seyoum Mesfin, held a meeting with the SPLM-IO leader Riek Machar yesterday in Addis Ababa on the resumption of negotiations between the two South Sudanese warring parties.

Hatim Chuai Deng, the SPLM-IO director of protocol, told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that the IGAD mediator met with Dr. Riek Machar at his residence in Addis Ababa.

He said they discussed ways how to push peace forward and the resumption of the peace talks, which have been postponed indefinitely by mediators.

Deng further revealed they agreed on some confidential points, saying Mesfin has promised that he will also discuss the same points with President Salva Kiir in the capital Juba soon.
