The situation is deteriorating for thousands of internally displaced people currently living in Al Shahid Afendi camp on the outskirts of Blue Nile state’s Damazin town. They report a lack of food and basic services.
People living in the camp told Radio Tamazuj there is also an accumulation of rainwater in the camp, which is destroying their houses.
The IDPs said there were nearly 10,000 people living in the temporary site and called on authorities to assist them.
