Internally displaced people at Garri Washnish camps in Sudan’s Blue Nile State say the camp has been cut off by the heavy rains that have rendered the roads impassable.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, several displaced families said the road to Roseires town has been the only road that supplies the camp with goods but due to the rains, no goods have been coming into the camp, worsening the living conditions of the people.
They said that despite the fact that some traders try to avail some food commodities using tractors, it is not enough to feed more than 20,000 people living in the now isolated camp.
They urged the government to improve the road network.
