Ibba registers 2483 people who fled Mardi

Ibba County of Western Equatoria State continues to receive people who fled from Maridi due to the conflict in the area, according to a local relief official.

Ibba County of Western Equatoria State continues to receive people who fled from Maridi due to the conflict in the area, according to a local relief official.

Adriano Izango, Ibba County Coordinator for Relief and Rehabilitation Commission, says they have registered 553 households and 2483 individuals from Maridi. They are now taking refuge with the host community of Ibba County and there is not yet any formal camp opened to accommodate them.

Most of the displaced are staying with relatives while others are hosted by the church.

Adriano further noted that he sent his report to the state and a team of humanitarian agencies is expected this week to carry outassessment to see how to assist the people.’
