Two people in the proposed Imatong State died of hunger this month, according to Lopa County Comissioner Sabrino Luso.
“We did not receive any assistance until now and hunger is continuing” Sabrino said.
He added that they have contacted UN agencies in the area to provide the people with assistance but have not received any help.
Separately, a local official said that communication services were cut from the area two weeks ago.
