At least two people have died of hunger in Mvolo County in South Sudan’s Amadi State last month, a local official said.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Friday, Mvolo County Commissioner, James Abdullah, said a man and a woman died due to hunger in the county last month.
He pointed out that the people of his County were suffering due to hunger, adding that local farmers couldn’t cultivate because the state ministry of agriculture failed to distribute seeds. “What is affecting farmers here is hunger, because they don’t have something to eat and go to cultivate,” he said.
He called on humanitarian organizations to help the needy people as soon as possible in the county.
