The Darfur Students Association at Bakht Al-Ruddah University of Sudan’s White Nile State has confirmed that hundreds of its students have submitted collective resignations from the university in protest against the dismissal of their colleagues.

The Darfur Students Association at Bakht Al-Ruddah University of Sudan’s White Nile State has confirmed that hundreds of its students have submitted collective resignations from the university in protest against the dismissal of their colleagues.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the association said the students presented a letter to the university’s administration in protest against the dismissal of 14 Darfur students from the university.

According to the statement, the university administration dismissed the students without following due process, saying it was merely because they were from Darfur.

Eyewitnesses told Radio Tamazuj that they saw hundreds of students carrying their bags on Tuesday heading towards Khartoum on foot after the security threatened bus drivers not to carry any students.
