Officials in Jonglei State are alarmed about the rise of HIV/AIDS cases in the State.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday, Mach Ajak, the director of HIV/AIDS in Jonglei, said 71 out of 168 local youths have been infected by HIV/AIDS between July and September.
He further said the disease is rapidly spreading in rural areas because of ignorance and unusual movement due to the ongoing conflict.
The health official revealed that only 756 out of more than 1, 400 young people who tested positive since January have enrolled for treatment.
