The majority of Ruweng’s secondary schools do not have the science specialist teachers needed to provide a high quality science education, according to a local official.

Ruweng’s Minister of Education Dou Al-Beit Bol Chol told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that four secondary schools are facing a serious shortage of science specialist teachers in areas like mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology.

However, he said the state government is planning to recruit teachers in order to solve the problem. “The state will provide the accommodation, feeding and salaries to science specialist teachers. Anyone who is interested should apply directly to the ministry or through our coordination office in Juba,” he said.
