South Sudan’s High Court in Juba on Thursday listened to statements by the defense in a forgery case in which staffs are accused of embezzling millions of dollars from the Office of the President.
The statements were made in the presence of the investigator Gen. Basilio Thomas Wani. The court then adjourned its next sitting until Monday.
Reech Riing, the defense lawyer of some of the accused, said there was no any evidence against his clients, saying everything will cleared on Monday. However, the lawyer pointed out that some of the accused employees confessed that they were involved in malpractices within the presidency.
