Health officials at Wau Teaching Hospital in Western Bahr el Ghazal State have expressed concern over waste that has accumulated at the facility for about three weeks.

Health officials at Wau Teaching Hospital in Western Bahr el Ghazal State have expressed concern over waste that has accumulated at the facility for about three weeks.

Martin Alberto Mustagbal, a health officer at the hospital, told Radio Tamazuj on Monday that garbage was supposed to be collected twice a week.

Mustagbal tasked the management of Khor-Lulu, the company responsible for garbage collection at the hospital to explain their failure to carry out their work.

For his part, however, David Angelo Ukelo, the director for Khor-Lulu said the company halted collecting garbage at the hospital because the Catholic Organization for Relief and Development Aid (CORDAID) has not paid for their services since December last year.

CORDAID has been funding garbage management at the hospital.

Radio Tamazuj could not reach the management of CORDAID to comment on the matter.
