Health clinic expansion to boost services in Lainya County

An expansion of the Jamara primary health clinic in Yei River State is expected to increase services, a local official told Radio Tamazuj. The facility's expansion in Lainya County is due to be completed next month, and is donated by VSO International and the Institute for Promotion of Civil Society

‘’We had a small delivery room plus one ward, a maternity ward, a woman’s ward, and men’s ward” said Lainya County Comissioner Augustino Kiri said Tuesday. “Thanks to God we managed to receive a donation”

Kiri said the community is facing a range of health crises. Health facilities in the area are missing beds. In Mukaya, the commissioner said that a maternity and child ward are needed.

Because of the increasing construction prices, the local government has not been able to expand its health facilities, and the commissioner called on donors for support.
