The governor of South Kordofan Ahmed Haroun pledged to implement his party’s promises to return the state of West Kordofan which was dissolved under the Comprehensive Peace Agreement in 2005.

Haroun said the planning for the state would take place with consultations.

He said this was a better method to demand their rights rather than sit-ins or demonstrations against the state.

There have been a number of demonstrations in El Fula, El Muglad and Babausa recently against the deterioration of public services and unemployment.
