Police rearrested three suspects who tried to escape from Juba Central Prison on Thursday.
The inmates were first arrested on charges of committing murder in a foreign country, Radio Miraya reported.
Police fired into the air during the attempted break and apprehended the suspects.
Prisons public relations officer Lt Col. Rodento Tongun told Radio Miraya: “…Suspected under section 206 murder cases they were believed to have killed someone. I think the killing is not in Juba it was reported to be outside South Sudan and that they were caught and brought here for the court of law. Specifically I have not seen the warrant number this is the report that came to us but it was reported in that way, this was what we received from the headquarters.”
