A police officer was reportedly injured after gunmen opened fire on him Monday afternoon, according to his colleague.
The officer was coming from Charter One Bank in Juba Downtown after leaving the bank on a commercial motorbike. Criminals who were monitoring his movement opened fire on him from a nearby vehicle which was following him.
One of the gunmen quickly came from the vehicle and stole the bag of the officer full of unidentified amount of cash.
In another development, criminals attempted to hijack a vehicle of an aid group in the Tongping area. The hijackers were reportedly later arrested near Lorri after a few hours.
