Two girls were sexually assaulted by gunmen in Kadugli town in Sudan's South Kordofan State on Tuesday evening, a source told Radio Tamazuj.

According to the source, the incident took place in two nearby houses at Al-Gurud neighbourhood block 4 in Kadugli town. He added that the victims were badly beaten and that one girl’s jaw was broken, saying they were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The same source pointed out that the perpetrators wore military uniforms found in the two houses where the incident took place.

Meanwhile, several citizens condemned the incident, saying it was planned because the two ladies have just returned back to Kadugli town after their graduation from the university.
