More than 40 cows were stolen when a group of armed men raided Wunbil village of Bieh State on Saturday, a local official said.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Saturday, SPLM IO-appointed Yol County commissioner Paul Ruot Mayian said no one was hurt during the attack.
“The incident occurred in Wunbil on the outskirts of my county at 1 AM. Those criminals went away with 40 cows and they headed towards Boma State,” he said.
The local official accused criminals from neighboring Boma State for the attack. He further urged Boma authorities to return stolen cattle to avoid escalation of violence among the two communities.
Boma State officials were not immediately available for comment.
