Gunmen have looted the office of gender and children in Wau town of South Sudan two times in four days, meanwhile the police have managed to arrest a number of suspects.
Last Saturday five gunmen broke into the office of gender and children which belongs to the ministry of education in the state and stole 53 boxes of notebooks, school bags and sport clothes donated by UNICEF.
Director of Police in Souk al Jou Peter Manyang told journalists that CID personnel on Wednesday have managed to recover 15 cartons of UNICEF notebooks and several school bags.
He pointed out that they arrested four suspects and are continuing to arrest the rest of the suspects.
On Wednesday another group of gunmen broke into the same building, threatened the gatekeeper and stole a TV and air conditioner. The office of gender and children is only a few meters away from the house of the governor and the police headquarters office.
