At least two people were killed Tuesday by unidentified criminals in a village south of Abyei town in the contested territory between Sudan and South Sudan, an Ngok Dinka chief said.

Ngok Dinka Paramount Chief Bulabek Deng Kuol told Radio Tamazuj that an armed group of ten people on motorcycles killed two citizens in Bier village.

He said the attackers came from the northern direction through forests. He accused the assailants of wanting to cause insecurity and stir up fear among local citizens during this year’s agriculture season.
