A Sudanese trader was shot dead at Camp 15 area in South Sudan’s Kapoeta State on Monday evening, a relative of the deceased said.

The trader, who hailed from the Nuba Mountains region, was identified as Mubarak Ibrahim.

The relative told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that Mubarak was killed by unknown gunmen at Camp 15 area. “When we were eating at home, unknown gunmen came and called him [Mubarak] to see them. When he went there, they fired three bullets at him and he died on the spot,” he said.

The state government confirmed the incident saying the investigations are underway.
