A Sudanese refugee has been killed by unknown gunmen on the road connecting Pariang county and Yida refugee camp, Unity state. Police have been unable to trace the perpetrators.
A relative of the victim told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that he went out riding his bicycle to fetch woods in the neighbourhood. On the road, the gunmen shot him in the chest and took the bicycle.
The victim had also lost about 230 head of cattle in his state of origin, South Kordofan, a source outlined.
Blue Nile refugees shot
Meanwhile, at least two Blue Nile refugees have been wounded by an attack carried out by unidentified criminals in Jendresa camp, Maban Upper Nile, over the last two days. The two refugees were shot when they were in their shops.
An official of the camp explained that both of them were seriously injured and subsequently taken to the Maban hospital for treatment.
