A police officer was killed on Friday after a group of unknown gunmen shot him dead at Al-Siteb area in Sudan’s West Kordofan state.
The deceased was identified as First Lieutenant Rahmatallah Al-Zamzami.
General Al-Sadiq Ali, the police commissioner in the state, said in a press statement that Al-Zamzami was assigned to issue national identity numbers for the locals in the area.
He explained that a group of masked gunmen attacked Al-Zamzami on Friday. The police commissioner pointed out that the attackers had asked Al-Zamzami to give them his car’s key and some money. No arrests have been made so far.
Ali further said the perpetrators also took money but couldn’t take the car.
