A person was killed by unknown gunmen in Western Equatoria State capital, Yambio last week, police said.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Monday, the state police commissioner, James Mande Enoka said Justin John was killed by unknown gunmen in his house.
He, however, said the motive behind the killing remains unknown.
In a separate incident, Mande said another armed group attacked a man on Sunday in Yambio, but he was rescued.
He urged citizens to report any crime to the police, adding that they are working very hard to ensure the perpetrators are apprehended.
