Unknown gunmen on Sunday shot and killed a herder in Bor County of Jonglei State, police said.
Police Commissioner Major General Joseph Mayen Akoon told Radio Tamazuj that the incident happened when unknown gunmen attacked two herders in Baidit payam.
“Those herders were moving to a cattle camp in a swampy area called Pariak. So, they fell into an ambush there,” he said.
He added, “One of the two men called Manyok Mach was killed. The attackers then escaped without looting anything.”
The senior police officer cautioned local residents against unnecessary movements in the area.
