A least four civilians were killed by unknown gunmen at Limbe village in Kajokeji County over the last weekend, a religious leader said.

The pastor, who preferred anonymity, said: “Yes I can confirm that four of our civilians were arrested and later killed by unknown people, and we don’t know whether they are from the government or the opposition.”

For his part, Wayi Godwil, a rebel spokesman in Yei River State accused the government of killing two men and two women in the area.

Meanwhile, Yei River State information minister Alfred Kennedy Duku confirmed four civilians were killed.

However, he accused the opposition of carrying out attacks on their positions in the area.
