At least four young herders were reportedly killed on Sunday in the Abbasia - Tageli area of South Kordofan. They were on their way to El Jebel market in the East Mountains.

A source close to the deceased told Radio Tamazuj that the young men were attacked along the main road heading to Rashad area by unidentified gunmen, allegedly from the Al Kawaila community. All five herders were killed and their cattle stolen.

The source also pointed out that the locals notified the authorities but they did not pursue the perpetrators. As a result, the situation is perceived to be “terribly declined” in the region.
