Gunmen kill ambulance driver in Cueibet

An ambulance driver who tried to rescue a wounded National Security officer was on Sunday ambushed and killed by unknown gunmen in Cueibet County of Lakes State, police said.

The incident occurred in the Agotciien area.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Monday, Col. Machar Muorwel Madol, the acting police commissioner of the defunct Gok State said they were searching for those who injured the security officer and killers of the ambulance driver who worked at Cueibet Hospital.

"I am in Panakol village with all the forces searching for those culprits who killed an ambulance driver who had wanted to save the life of a wounded National Security officer,” he explained.

Madol accused a section of the Yep clan of wounding the National Security officer who hails from the Agotciien clan of Lang Payam.

The police officer said the security officer is receiving treatment at Cueibet County hospital as a search for the suspects continue.
