The incident occurred in the Chopo and Mangaya areas of Raja county. The gunmen stormed military bases, and the army has regained control of the area, Minister for Information Francis Piol Buk told Radio Tamazuj in an interview.

“These are serious, serious issues that we need to educate the leadership of the nation and citizens to be careful while we are trying to address this issue,” Piol said.

Piol not disclose how many people were killed or wounded and called on the international community, former warring parties, and army leadership to investigate the incident.

The attacks took place few hours after the state governor returned from an official visit in Juba.
