Gunmen attacked a vehicle of an NGO and stole $70,000 in Apuk South County in South Sudan’s Gogrial State.
The incident which also resulted in the wounding of a civilian occurred on Saturday.
Apuk South County Commissioner Santino Yel told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that World Vision staff members were intercepted by unknown gunmen on their way to facilitate a workshop for health workers at Luanyaker Hospital.
He pointed out that an amount of $70,000 belonging to the organization was stolen at gunpoint from a Kenyan lady who was on board. He revealed that no arrests were made.
Staff members of World Vision could not immediately be reached for comment.
