Gum Arabic producers in Renk County lack funding

Gum Arabic producers in Renk County of Upper Nile State complained of lack of funding. They said that there is great amount of production of the gum crop in different areas of Renk County but there are problems facing producers, including lack of funding support from the government in the county.

The crop, which South Sudan renamed ‘African Gum,’ has now more difficulties getting to market, according to producers.

Producers also complained that they are self-funded, wanting the Republic of South Sudan to step in to boost production.
