Grenade explodes during quarrel: two citizens killed, South Sudan

At least two people were reportedly killed and two others injured by an explosion of a grenade in Tonj South county, Warrap state.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, a source reported that a quarrel developed between a driver of a motor cycle, locally known as “boda-boda”, and a Sudanese market trader over a payment that should have been done the two days ago.

The source claimed that in the heat of the quarrel the driver ran home, returning with a hand grenade. The bomb exploded, killing the two disputes on the spot and killed and seriously injuring two passers-by.

The Tonj South county Commissioner, William Wuol, confirmed to Radio Tamazuj that the incident took place when motorcycle driver, Rok Woul, apparently insisted not to pay for two litter of fuel to the Sudanese trader, Musa Idris Adam. The trader then took the keys from the driver by force.

The incident led to the closure of the market.
