Police Inspector-General Pieng Deng Kuol met with Governor of Western Bahr al Ghazal Joseph Bakosoro last week to discuss the possibility of recruiting more police in the state.

In an interview aired last Thursday on state-run SSTV, Bakosoro said, “In relation to the police force we have very few police force in the state and we need more police force recruitment in the state.”

Similarly, Bakosoro’s counterpart in Central Equatoria last year also called for more police recruitment in his state.

The WES governor said that he also briefed the police inspect-general about the recent LRA attack in the state and about a planned security meeting at the border with Congo, which would take place “soon.”

“We don’t like to be attacked. I have talked to the governor of Kisangani so that we have a security meeting,” said Bakosoro.
