Eastern Equatoria State Governor Louis Lobong Lojore has issued an order reinstating the Director General of the state Ministry of Health, Dr. Etin Concord Errid.

Eastern Equatoria State Governor Louis Lobong Lojore has issued an order reinstating the Director General of the state Ministry of Health, Dr. Etin Concord Errid.

This decision comes after the governor’s previous suspension of both the Minister of Health and the Director General, which took place on March 28, 2023, and saw the appointment of Clementina Lubuya as the Acting Director General during their absence.

The reasons behind the initial suspension were not explicitly stated in the executive order, leaving observers puzzled about the circumstances. However, Dr. Etin Concord Errid later confirmed that the suspension was due to unresolved administrative issues between him and the Minister of Health.

Governor Lobong Lojore stated in the executive order: “In exercise of powers conferred upon me under republican decree NO. 51/2020 and in accordance with schedule B(6) of the Transitional Constitution of the Republic of South Sudan, 2011; considering article 99 (2a) of the Transitional Constitution of Eastern Equatoria State, 2011; as recommended by the disciplinary board, I, Louis Lobong Lojore, Governor of Eastern Equatoria State do hereby issue this executive order number 21/2023 for the lifting of the suspension and resumption of duties for Dr. Etin Concord Errid as the Director General of the state Ministry of Health with his full salaries in Eastern Equatoria State.”

Dr. Etin Concord Errid, upon being contacted by Radio Tamazuj, confirmed his reinstatement and immediate resumption of office.

“I was aware, and now I have taken over the office right now. I will not say anything but only I will thank His Excellency the governor and the investigation committee. I appreciate them very much. As for the population, we will continue to build on what my predecessor was doing. The Acting Director General was doing a good job, and I will take over from there. So rest assured that there will be no problems,” Dr. Etin said.
