Eastern Equatoria State Governor Louis Lobong Lojore has commended lawyer-turned-farmer Noel Ajo for his exemplary agricultural work in Ifwotu Payam of Torit County.
Lojore said the farm has portrayed a positive transformation of livelihoods through food production in the state.
He made the remarks during his visit to Ifwotu Payam on November 20.
“I appreciate the Initiative of IGELE Farms, which have changed the narrative of the people living in Ifwotu. I encourage the project to continue,” he said.
Lojore urged Ajo to use his creative initiative to attract South Sudanese in the diaspora back to the country to invest in agriculture in the state.
“I call upon Moulana Ajo to sell such ideas to the sons and daughters in diaspora to invest in Ifwotu or other parts of the state, since it is conducive and peaceful and with fertile land which supplies Torit and beyond,” he stated.
The Governor assured the IGELE Farms owner and the communities of the government’s commitment to completing current road project that links Torit-Ifwotu-Iyire and Palotaka areas, respectively.
While Ajo stressed that his community (the Ifwotu people) had suffered for many years during the colonial era to the civil wars and it was time to liberate them from poverty and food insecurity, he acknowledged the unwavering support of the Governor in reference to road construction, which is the source of peace and development.
Lojore was accompanied by members of the executive and MPs.
