Governor Jadalla vows to tackle Jebel Lado Payam land grabbing, killings

Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani, the governor of Central Equatoria State, on Friday visited the Mulubur area of Juba County’s Jebel Ladu Payam which has been rocked by perennial land grabbing that has resulted in several murders.

The impromptu visit comes on the heels of the killing of three locals by land grabbers this week. On Tuesday, a youth named Tombe was killed in cold blood after being sprayed with eight bullets, local officials said. Things took another bizarre turn during his burial on Thursday when two other local men were also shot dead after their legs were first broken and another man was injured.

According to Waakhe Wudu LoPoni, the press secretary in the office of the governor, Jadalla visited the area to condole with the bereaved families and residents of Jebel Lado Payam as well as acquaint himself with the situation on the ground.

“Speaking next to the grave of Late Tombe, Governor Jadalla assured the residents of Jebel Lado Payam about the state government’s commitment to addressing the barbaric killings and issue of land grabbing,” Wudu stated.
