Central Equatoria State Governor Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo on Tuesday donated a Toyota LandCruiser vehicle and six motorcycles to the State Revenue Authority to ease their mobility.
Speaking during the handover, Jadalla said the car and motorcycles will enhance the operations of the State Revenue Authority and boost tax collection.
“We are very happy, and as the Commissioner General said, more cars are coming and we want to tell people that things are coming. The only good thing is for you to work for the country, you have to work diligently so that you can leave a good legacy,” he said. “I know the Revenue Authority has been suffering since the day I came. The tax collectors especially at bus stations have been suffering and I hope God will protect you because most of you have good hearts and you should continue with your work.”
For her part, State Minister of Finance, Planning and Investment Viana Kakuli said the vehicle will help in resource mobilization.
“We have issues of mobilization of resources in the state and our staff have been moving using private motorcycles which was very dangerous. I just want to thank your leadership for allowing us to possess this vehicle that will help in the mobilization of resources,” she said. “Also, it will help in monitoring the resources that we will be gathering within the state.”
Meanwhile, Commissioner General of State Revenue Authority Moses Idoru who received the vehicle and six motorcycles thanked the governor.
“You had given us three vehicles to help in raising revenue in Central Equatoria State and these motorbikes are the beginning,” he stated. “I just want to say to the heads of the stations, this is the beginning and all are going to have mobility. We have a bus which transports the civil servants from their homes to the office and back.”
